Multi-Disciplinary Creative Designer

Hey! I am Priya, an Australian Multi-disciplinary Creative designer and Artist. I graduated at Queensland University of Technology, majoring in Industrial Design with a minor in Interactive and Visual Design in 2017.

Growing up I always loved art, design and creating creative solutions. I would always draw, paint, help my dad around the house renovating and making things. This led me to study industrial design.

During my time at university, I was fortunate to be part of internships, which immersed me in other design disciplines such as interior architecture, user experience design, design research and manufacturing. This also included the Asia Study Tour to Hong Kong, Shenzen and Taiwan, where I learned about manufacturing, cultural influences, and how other cities approach problems.

After I graduated from university, I had the opportunity to do freelance design work for RUBIN8 (a gaming company), creating concept interface artworks for a web-based design game.

In 2018, I had the opportunity to work at a local in-house shade sail and structure company. My position was to design and create concept drawings for proposals, and technical drawings for manufacturing and marketing product brochures. Our clients were local city councils, schools and commercial companies.

In 2019, I started working as a Digital Media Consultant in the Transport Planning and Traffic Modelling team at GHD. This is where I was able to apply my design thinking skills to help assist with planning and design options for transport systems and infrastructure and be involved in marketing and stakeholder engagement. During this graduate program, we also had a lot of training and professional development such as networking, personal branding, presentations, project management, and how to work in a multi-disciplinary team.

At the beginning of 2021, I worked at Vorstrom Vacuum Equipment in Warwick, QLD, where I was part of the design team. I helped assist with creating SolidWorks models and drawings of the custom design parts as per clients' specifications for manufacturing.

Since mid-2021, I am currently working at Signs Etc, where I work with a team to design and manufacture signage for large-scale projects for public and private clients in Australia.

Outside of work I do a bit of freelance design, photography and art commissions. I am passionate about creating a positive impact on the way we live in the future through sustainable and innovative design solutions.

Currently, open for industrial design, signage and wayfinding, Visual design, design strategy, transport design, user experience design and freelance related opportunities in Brisbane /around Australia/ Overseas (Asia).

Feel free to send a message for any commissions, collaboration, design work and questions!

Thanks! Message sent.
